Streamer Netflix have debuted the trailer for their upcoming television series of Avatar: The Last Airbender. It’s been a long time coming, with the adaption first announced back in 2018.
Based on the cult classic animated series, the story takes place in a world divided into four nations, one each for the elements of Air, Water, Earth and Fire.
Set a century after the Fire Nation attacked and plunged the world into war, a new Avatar is discovered: Aang. He’s the last surviving airbender but, as Avatar, must learn to master all four elements in order to defeat the Firelord Ozai and free his world.
In the trailer, Aang meets the young waterbender Katara and her brother Sokka who become his allies. There’s also plenty of action, and we get a look at both Price Zuko and Firelord Ozai too.
