Announced back in June 2022, Apple TV+ have set a start date for its upcoming crime drama Criminal Record.
The series stars Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo as two detectives drawn into conflict over an old murder case. She’s a young woman in the early stages of her career, while he is a well-connected man determined to protect his legacy.
Here’s what Apple TV+ say about Criminal Record:
From BAFTA Award nominee Paul Rutman (Vera, Indian Summers), Criminal Record is a powerful, character-driven drama set in the heart of contemporary London. An anonymous phone call draws two brilliant detectives into a confrontation over an old murder case – one a young woman in the early stages of her career, the other a well-connected man determined to protect his legacy. The series touches on issues of race, institutional failure and the quest to find common ground in a polarised Britain.
Peter Capaldi stars as Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Hegarty, while Cush Jumbo plays Detective Sergeant June Lenker.
The show’s cast also includes Charlie Creed-Miles, Dionne Brown, Shaun Dooley, Stephen Campbell Moore, Zoë Wanamaker, Rasaq Kukoyi, Maisie Ayres, Aysha Kala, Cathy Tyson and Tom Moutchi.
Criminal Record comes from Tod Productions and STV Studios. The executive producers are Elaine Collins, Paul Rutman, Capaldi and Jumbo. The directors are Jim Loach (Save Me Too) and Shaun James Grant (The Devil’s Hour).
Criminal Record premieres globally on Apple TV+ with a double-episode premiere on 12th January, 2024. The eight-part drama then drops episodes weekly on Fridays.
