Dan Stevens is joining Natalie Portman as her on-screen husband in upcoming astronaut drama Pale Blue Dot, from Legion creator Noah Hawley.

The film follows Portman’s married astronaut who, upon returning to Earth, begins an affair with a colleague played by Jon Hamm. Zazie Beetz also stars as a trainee also involved with Hamm’s character.

Stevens reunites with Hawley, who will direct from a script by Brian C. Brown and Elliott DiGuiseppi. Reese Witherspoon was originally set to star, but will still produce the project after she stepped down from the role.

The film’s love triangle is inspired by real-life events, in which mission specialist Lisa Nowak was charged with the attempted kidnapping of US Air Force Captain Colleen Shipman – involved with astronaut William Oefelein.
