The series, filmed in lockdown, will be called Staged…
David Tennant and Michael Sheen are getting together (apart) for a new comedy show filmed in lockdown entitled Staged, which has been written by Simon Evans. The BBC announced this week that six 15-minute episodes of the show will air sometime in June on BBC One.
The series centres on “the cast of a play – the cream of the crop of British acting talent – who are furloughed when their upcoming West End production is suddenly brought to a halt” and will follow the cast “as they try their best to keep the rehearsals on track in lockdown.” Georgia Tennant, Lucy Eaton and Anna Lundberg will all co-star in Staged along with Nina Sosanya, and more guest stars to be announced at a later date.

“It’s so important that the BBC provides moments of humour and light relief, and this mischievous idea shows what great sports Michael and David are,” said Charlotte Moore, director of BBC Content, in a statement.
The team behind the show have also been observing strict guidelines “to ensure that the series is made safely and responsibly, using a combination of self-shooting and video conferencing technology.”
