The BBC confirms the start of production on another series of Mandy.
While Philomena Cunk is answering the big questions, Diane Morgan has another character who’s continuing to do well enough for herself. Mandy is coming back for a fourth series, with six more 15-minute episodes.
Here’s what’s in store…
This series Mandy continues to live hand-to-wonky-mouth, cooking up enough dodgy side hustles and trashy cash hacks to hopefully climb up into the squeezed middle and out of the squashed bottom. Constantly harassed, pursued and persecuted by her benefits officer (Tom Basden), Mandy finds solace in her friend Lola’s (Michelle Greenidge) salon, drinking in the heady aroma of cheap bleach and Minty Pig nail polish.
Joining the show for series 4 are Sian Gibson, Rosie Cavaliero, Cheryl Fergison, Jamie Bisping and Joanna Bacon.
Plus, Mark Silcox, Alistair Green, Michael Spicer, Miles Chapman, Tony Way, Robbie Gee, Pearce Quigley, Ben Rufus Green and Yuriko Kotani all reprise their roles.
In typical fashion, Diane Morgan said:
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be asked to provide a quote for a press release that tells people how thrilled I am that the BBC is bringing back Mandy. However I am too busy writing, directing and starring in the show to come up with anything, so I’ve asked someone else to write it. They are thrilled.”
Diane Morgan writes, directs and stars in Mandy. It comes from BBC Studios Comedy Productions and Witchcraft Industries.
You can find the first three series on BBC iPlayer.
