As part of their Halloween publicity, Netflix post a YouTube video for The Witcher titled Geralt’s Monster Mash. It’s mostly a selection of clips from season 1, but at 0.31, eagle-fans noticed something new…
It appears to me something undead, formed of the fusion of three skeletal figures. All very suitable for Halloween, but is it connected to Geralt’s past?
If you cast your mind back to the last time you rewatched season 1, you’ll remember that epic ending left Geralt convinced Yennefer had died in battle. In a release from Netflix, they state:
“Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
Like all shows, The Witcher has been delayed in production, but fans can rest assured plenty of action is planned, and Henry Cavill has been on Instagram posting pictures of himself in full Geralt costume and he looks as moody as ever. All we know is season 2 will arrive on Netflix sometime in 2021, which is promising to be a bumper year. We can’t wait!
