Billie Piper sent social media into something of a tizz – unusual for social media, right? – when she sent out a post a few days back, suggesting she had news, and included an Emoji of a rose. Could, fans wondered, she be about to announce a return to the role of Rose Tyler in Doctor Who? Could she? Could she?
No.
The payoff from her teaser post has now arrived, and it turns out she’s actually organised a raffle. A very good raffle, but one that doesn’t involve her appearing in the new series of Doctor Who alongside Jodie Whittaker.
The raffle in question is to raise money for an acting school, and the prize concerned is a chance to see Piper’s upcoming Broadway show, and a chance to hang out with her in New York.
