Bradley Walsh is one of three new companions in the new series of Doctor Who…
On this occasion, the rumour mill proved to be right. Bradley Walsh has now been confirmed by the BBC to be the new Doctor Who companion, and he’ll be playing a character called Graham in the new run of the show. He’ll join Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor in series 11, which begins filming shortly.
He’s not alone, either. In all there will be three companions travelling with Whittaker at various parts of the series. Tosin Cole will be playing Ryan, and Mandip Gill is taking on the role of Yasmin.
There’s also room in the cast for Sharon D Clarke in a new recurring role.
Walsh, for one, is quoted as saying of his early day watching the show “I was petrified, but even though I’d watch most of it from behind the sofa through my fingers, I became a fan”. He added that “Am I thrilled to be part of this whole ground breaking new dawn for the Doctor? Oh yes!”
New showrunner Chris Chibnall has described his new additions to the cast as “three of Britain’s brightest talents”, noting that “the new Doctor is going to need new friends”.
Sounds like she’s got them…!
