Announced in July 2025, a new series of adventures featuring the Fugitive Doctor spanning across multiple media promised to debut this year, is finally getting an update next week.
According to several comics industry sources, the cover image for Doctor Who: Circuit Breaker #1 from Titan Comics will be revealed on April 30. Fans should expect a dedicated video on the official Doctor Who YouTube channel. The comic is written Dan Watters and Dulce Montoya and illustrated by Roberta Ingranata and Sami Kivela with additional artwork by Valentina Brianconi.
Spanning audio dramas, comics, mobile games, novels, and digital storytelling, Circuit Breaker offers an interconnected narrative that will unfold across multiple formats, inviting fans to experience the mystery from multiple angles. The overarching narrative is crafted by best-selling author Esmie Jikiemi-Pearson. Two comics from Titan are planned as part of the Circuit Breaker media collection.
Strange alien artifacts are appearing inside UNIT’s Black Archive. Each object is unmistakably linked to a different regeneration of the Doctor, but they’ve been tampered with. A corrupted energy signature of unknown origin pulses through them, and their sudden arrival has torn tiny ruptures across time and space.
UNIT is out of options. To repair the damage and restore the timeline, the objects must be returned to the exact moments they were taken from. If not, the Doctor’s adventures – and the universe itself – could unravel.

So far, a Taranium Core, associated with the First Doctor, has turned up at the Black Archive. A recent UNIT briefing suggests that there is a traitor in their midst.

To solve the mystery, UNIT calls upon a little-known incarnation of the Time Lord: the Fugitive Doctor, played by Jo Martin, who returns in a central role. But how does UNIT know about her? And is she the Doctor they expect?
“I’m thrilled to tell more stories about the Fugitive Doctor and cannot wait for fans to unlock all the twists and turns across the Circuit Breaker story,” Jo Martin commented. “This character has always meant so much to me, and it is a joy to continue building her legacy and dive back into the Whoniverse.”
Doctor Who: Circuit Breaker #1 from Titan Comics, starring Jo Martin as the Fugitive Doctor, will be available 8 July.
