A companion for Ncuti Gatwa’s new Time Lord on Doctor Who will be announced live on this year’s Children in Need show tonight, Friday, November 18, 2022.

Gatwa’s fifteenth Doctor will have just one companion for his adventures and the actor who will portray this companion is expected to make a live appearance on the charity appeal programme.
BBC Children in Need is the BBC’s UK charity. Since 1980, it has raised over £1.5 billion for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. One of the highlights is the annual telethon, a prominent annual event in British television held on November 18 this year, televised on BBC One and BBC Two.
Doctor Who has had a long association with Children in Need and has contributed original productions and features aired as part of the annual appeal.
Gatwa is set to begin his adventures as the fifteenth Doctor over the festive period in 2023.
The BBC Children in Need Appeal Night Show will be on BBC One and iPlayer on Friday, November 18 from 19:00 to 22:00 GMT.
