In honor of Jodie Whittaker’s birthday on June 17, Doctor Who fan artists on Twitter collaborated on a graphic novel adapted from the story Press Play by Pete McTighe.
The first tweet in the series begins a thread of beautiful fan artwork illustrating Press Play.

The collaboration received a resounding endorsement from McTighe, who tweeted “Gorgeous Doctor Who fans have illustrated ‘Press Play’ ” and “This is beautiful!! What a treat to see such amazing artists bring my story to life. You’ve all done an INCREDIBLE job” from his private Twitter account.

McTighe’s short story, featuring the thirteenth Doctor receiving a recorded communication from granddaughter Susan, first appeared in audio form, to the delight of Doctor Who fans, during the COVID-19 pandemic as a fundraiser for essential workers.
