A new exhibition in Weston-super-Mare will celebrate 60 Years of Doctor Who art.
Doctor Who‘s 60th Anniversary will soon be upon us and here’s news of an exhibition that is sure to be worth a visit.
Adventures in Time and Space – 60 Years of Doctor Who Art at the Weston Museum in Weston-super-Mare promises to take you on a nostalgia-filled ride as it celebrates “… the show’s whopping six decades of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey greatness.”
The exhibition boasts the largest collection of original and digital art from and about the programme ever shown in one location. Items on display will include iconic book covers, VHS video covers, annuals, comics, and graphic novels. There’s even the promise of a painting that made its debut on the show itself – we can think of a few possibles!
The collection of artwork assembled for the exhibition includes the work of Chris Achilleos, Colin Howard and Andrew Skilleter. Plus, Marvel Comics legends Dave Gibbons and Lee Sullivan, as well as series storyboard artist Mike Collins of Bad Wolf.
Other contributions include the works of Jessica Martin, Bill Donohoe, David McAllister, Lee Binding, Sophie Leong, Gwen Burns, Eren Angiolini, and the dynamic duo Anthony Dry & Stuart Crouch. The show’s organisers say that they have rounded up items for the exhibition from private art collectors and dedicated fans.
Adventures in Time and Space – 60 Years of Doctor Who Art runs from 21st October 2023 – 27th January 2024. The exhibition is organised by the South West Heritage Trust and Events of Wonder.
