Here’s a first look at the flatmates as they return for Season Two of the superpowered sitcom Extraordinary.
Extraordinary was a breakout comedy hit for Disney+ last year. It tells the story of a late-bloomer’s attempt to find her place in a remarkable world.
Fusing superpowers with sitcom, flying boyfriends with flatmates, we were thrilled to see its swift recommission. And we’ve not looked at a 3D printer the same way since.
Now, Season Two is almost upon us – Disney+ have confirmed a launch date of Wednesday, March 6th, 2024.
Here’s what we know about Extraordinary Season Two:
Season two picks up where season one spectacularly left off, following Jen (Máiréad Tyers) on her powers journey as she enrols as a client at the power clinic. Jen soon discovers that the process of finding her power isn’t as easy as she hoped, and things in the rest of her life aren’t smooth sailing either.
Ex-cat, now-boyfriend Jizzlord (Luke Rollason) has had an unexpected revelation about his past, and Kash (Bilal Hasna) and Carrie (Sofia Oxenham) are attempting to be totally mature and dignified about their break-up, which is not easy when they’re still living under the same roof. It seems that Jen and the gang are dealing with new levels of adulting and chaos that none of them are prepared for.
Siobhán McSweeney and Robbie Gee also return as Mary and Ian, Jen’s mum and stepdad. New cast members for this season include Julian Barrett as George, Jen’s power coach at the Discovery Clinic and Rosa Robson as Nora, an unexpected person from Jizzlord’s past. Plus, Kwaku Mills as Clark, Carrie’s new work colleague and Derek Jacobi voicing a special cameo role.
Series creator Emma Moran writes, with Toby MacDonald and Jennifer Sheridan directing. Sally Woodward Gentle and Lee Morris are executive producers for Sid Gentle Films. Charles Dawson, Johanna Devereaux and Emma Moran also serve as executive producers. Charlie Palmer is Series Producer with Abíólá Rufai-Awójídé as Producer.
The show streams on Hulu in the US and Disney+ in the rest of the world, where you can find Season One.
