Eye in the Sky
Taking a closer look at one of the other films arriving on the 17th, Eye in the Sky starring Helen Mirren has one of the last performances by the late Alan Rickman. It scored a huge 95% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes and 82% with the audience. Directed by Gavin Hood it’s a study of the ethics of drone warfare. A lieutenant general (Alan Rickman) and a colonel (Helen Mirren) face political opposition after ordering a drone missile strike to take out a group of suicide bombers in Nairobi, Kenya. It promises to be thought provoking.
