Fate The Winx Saga renewed for a second season after only a month
Deadline has reported the renewal of Fate: The Winx Saga for another eight episodes. As we reported previously, this is a title with a significant presence already in both comics and animation. Even if the live action series has carved its own path, and had some criticism for that, in the main the audience is happy.
Interestingly, Rotten Tomatoes is showing (at the time of writing) a miserly 35% rating among critics, but note the audience figure of 76%. Clearly Netflix is happy with the viewing figures, and the balance of viewers, production cost, marketing and time to deliver all add up to an easy decision for the streamer. It would be interesting to see their internal metrics on viewing but in reality we shall have to rely on simpler statistics (such as Nielsen).
Fate: The Winx Saga season 1 stars Abigail Cowen, Hannah van der Westhuysen, Precious Mustapha, Eliot Salt, Elisha Applebaum, Danny Griffin, Sadie Soverall and Freddie Thor. At this time we’ve no details on who will be returning, though show runner Brian Young said:
“The six episodes in Season 1 only scratched the surface of this incredibly rich world and the powerful fairies who inhabit it. As Bloom’s story continues to evolve, I can’t wait for you to learn even more about Aisha, Stella, Terra and Musa. And you never know who might show up at Alfea next term.”
More news as we get it.
