Benedict Cumberbatch is Patrick Melrose – and here’s the new trailer and launch date for the new show.
Further to the release of the first official picture towards the end of last year, Sky has now confirmed when we can expect to see the new show Patrick Melrose, starring Benedict Cumberbatch. A premiere date of Sunday May 13th has been announced. Episode one will be available on demand that day, and it’ll also be screened on Sky Atlantic at 9pm.
We also now learn that the first episode will actually be available just a little earlier, too. It will be screened at 2am on that Sunday, in line with its premiere on HBO in the States.
There are five episodes in all for the series, that filmed a few months back. And a full trailer for the drama has now been released. It looks like this…
A teaser for the show had already been released at the start of the year…
Here’s our earlier story…
Filming has been underway on the new drama Melrose for some time now, with star Benedict Cumberbatch being seen on the streets of Glasgow during location filming. As such, cameraphone snaps of him in his role surfaced online. Now, though, there’s something more official.
Melrose is based on the Patrick Melrose novels by Edward St Aubyn, and the adaptation will see a different novel forming the basis of each episode. That picture above? That’s the first shot of Cumberbatch in the lead role.
David Nicholls has penned the adaptation, that Cumberbatch is also executive producer of.
The drama will premiere on Sky Atlantic in 2018.
