Doctor Who newcomer Pearl Mackie met one of her heroes last night when American actor John Goodman came to see her play in London.
Mackie, who was announced as Jenna Coleman’s replacement last month, is performing in the National Theatre’s production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time at the Gielgud Theatre in London’s West End until June.
Upon meeting Goodman last night, Mackie described herself as “fangirling all over the place” and “starstruck” in a post on Instagram.
John Goodman is best known for his roles in Raising Arizona, The Big Lebowski, Monsters, Inc., Argo and long-running US sitcom Roseanne.
Pearl Mackie will join Peter Capaldi’s Doctor as new companion Bill on screen in 2017.
Hopefully she tried to persuade Goodman to film a guest appearance in Doctor Who!
