The hit television gameshow is becoming a fully voice-acted VR experience.
The ever-expanding universe of Taskmaster is heading to a VR console near you next year.
Indie developer Scallywag Arcade has revealed details of Taskmaster VR – an interactive version of the show coming to Steam and the Meta Quest 2 and 3.
Here’s what the makers have to say:
Taskmaster is coming to virtual reality and YOU are the contestant. In Taskmaster VR you can expect fun, chaos, puzzles and comedy – oh and you may end up smashing a lot of things too!
Open the task, complete the task, submit yourself to the judgement of The Taskmaster and be crowned the winner. Sounds simple? Think again! Taskmaster VR brings all the manic mayhem of the international TV comedy sensation to virtual reality and features fully voice acted performances from The Taskmaster himself Greg Davies and his assistant Alex Horne.
There is no one single way to complete the varied tasks – you have to pick up, prod, throw, balance and do whatever it takes to fulfil The Taskmaster and his assistant’s instructions.
Alex Horne, the creator of Taskmaster said:
“Genuinely, this is extraordinary, brilliant and very fun. Also, I’ve always wanted to be a contestant on Taskmaster so this is great for me as a VR user.”
The Taskmaster himself, Greg Davies, adds:
“The team have done an incredible job and the game is a really exciting addition to the Taskmaster world. On a personal note, the creation of a virtual reality Taskmaster takes me ever closer to my ultimate goal of working without even leaving my sofa.”
Taskmaster VR is out in 2024 and you can add it to your Steam wishlist now. For more details check out Scallywag Arcade.
