ITV has announced Gone, a new psychological drama starring Eve Myles and David Morrissey

Eve Myles and David Morrissey head the cast of new ITV drama Gone from Hijack and Lupin screenwriter George Kay. It’s a six-part psychological thriller, directed by Richard Laxton and co-produced by New Pictures and Kay’s Observatory Pictures, in association with All3Media International.

What is Gone about and who is in in it

From The Knowledge Online:

The story is set against the backdrop of a prestigious private school, with headmaster Michael Polly (Morrissey) becoming the prime suspect in his wife Sarah’s disappearance. Myles plays gusty, bright Detective Annie Cassidy, who chips away at his orderly, inscrutable façade to find the truth, in a game of cat and mouse.

The supporting cast includes Emma Appleton, Jennifer Macbeth, Arthur Hughes, Nicholas Nunn, Elliot Cowan, Billy Barrett, Rupert Evans, Jodie McNee, Oscar Batterham and Clare Higgins.

George Kay previously worked on Long Shadow with ITV and New Pictures. Like that project, Gone is informed by true crime. The article cited also tells us:

The drama is partly inspired by the book To Hunt a Killer and the career and work of former Detective Superintendent for Gloucestershire Police, Julie Mackay, and ITV crime correspondent Robert Murphy who has reported on some of the biggest and most complex cases in the West of England. Both Mackay and Murphy serve as consultants on the series.

We assume the show will air some time in 2026.
