Daniel Radcliffe stars in Guns Akimbo coming to Amazon Prime later this month
Continuing to take roles that aren’t Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe stars in 2019 film Guns Akimbo, available on Amazon Prime from July 16.
Amazon has dropped an official trailer with the brief logline:
Daniel Radcliffe is Miles, a self-proclaimed nobody who unwillingly becomes a participant in a real life deathmatch. Oh, and he also has guns bolted to his hands…
Luckily we’ve found a longer description:
Miles is a video game developer who inadvertently becomes the next participant in a real-life death match that streams online. While Miles soon excels at running away from everything, that won’t help him outlast Nix, a killer at the top of her game
We grabbed that from Rotten Tomatoes who rate the film poorly (51% critic, 40% audience), though on only a small set of reviews. The film also stars Samara Weaving (Nix), Ned Dennehy (Riktor), Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Nova), Grant Bowler (Degraves) and Edwin Wright (Stanton.)
You can see the trailer and see if that persuades you to give the film some attention on release. From skimming the reviews, we get the sense it won’t appeal to everyone, but some may still find it worth a watch, even in a crowded market.
