As much as the original Ghostbusters film is rightly highly regarded, surely praise should also be reserved for another 1980s triumph, The Real Ghostbusters TV show. The animated series was a childrens’ TV favourite in the UK, and such was its level of success, that by 1988, these were on the shelves?

Remember them? The 80s were hardly short of novelty crisps and confectionery items – Roy Of The Rovers chew bars, anyone? – but stumbling through a 1988 comic, we found the above advert for two different flavours. It’s a wonder that Cheese & Bacon never caught on.
A tomato variant was also released at one stage too we understand, and the crisps tended to sell for 10p a pack. That’s Space Raiders market.
Whilst we’ve munched our way through our fair share of crisps over the years, we must admit we’ve drawn a blank at these. If anyone out there has given them a go in their youth, let us know below. And let us know about any other novelty flavoured crisps based around TV shows you might recall, too!
