Written by Robert Jones and directed by Birger Larsen (The Killing), the one-off crime drama starred Karla Crome (Hit & Miss) and Joe Dempsie (The Fades).
Using personal testimony, Murder revisits the missing moments in search of the truth. Intercut with CCTV footage, flashback and forensic evidence, the protagonists speak direct to camera giving their version of events, one after the other, but where does the truth lie when the different versions don’t add up?
Janice Hadlow, Controller, BBC Two, commented: “Murder was one of the most striking and distinctive single dramas on BBC Two last year and I’m delighted to see it turn into a series.”
Executive producer Rob Pursey added: “We have always felt that Murder had the potential to re-invent the crime series. With the new BBC commission we will strive to make that a reality. We are really grateful to the BBC for supporting this radical new drama.”
