While it may be chilly here in the UK and we have yet to have our Christmas celebrations, we do find that our mind begins to wander while battling the wind and rain to get to work about our future holiday destination options.
And if you’re anything like me, you’ve probably been dreaming of your next holiday the second you get back from your latest one! Well, it’s time to stop daydreaming and start planning. My list of the hottest holiday destinations for 2017 is sure to give you some food for thought and maybe even open your eyes to some new ideas for places to see.
Be sure to have all your paper work sorted in advance of jetting off this summer (e.g. get and EHIC card or ESTA visa) and ensure you have all the necessary jabs before you go for a carefree and relaxed holiday experience.
Europe
A short haul destination certainly has its advantages, from cheaper flights to fewer jabs and the chance to maybe visit a few places at once due to the countries in Europe being in such close proximity of one another.
Lisbon has recently topped the list for fabulous holiday destination and has certainly created a buzz amongst those who find its affordability and incredible shopping a massive bonus to its great weather. Malta and Croatia are its closest rivals and really do offer you some of the best cuisine, culture and historic sites to explore.
Caribbean
Cuba, the largest of the Caribbean islands has long been an area of mystery and intrigue and is certainly top of many people’s ultimate holiday destination wish list. As the country is now more open to receiving visitors, it has seen a massive tourism boom. Havana is filled with culture and history while Veradero is an impressive beach resort.
Alternatively, destinations such as the Dominican Republic and Barbados offer really attractive all-inclusive offers if you’re looking to take it easy and let someone else take care of you for a while. St Martin also has to be included on the list of exotic and wildly exciting places to visit in 2017. Their culture, food and friendly people will make your feel home away from home.
Far East
If you’re looking for luxury and value for money the Far East certainly takes some beating. Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore are back on the list as some of the most popular destinations for summer holidays in 2017.
With their modern and sophisticated hotels and competitive rates and high quality service, you can be sure to spend your summer in paradise if you choose to travel to the Far East.
North America and Canada
Holidays to the US and Canada have grown in demand recently and many UK airports offer affordable flights to both countries. Travelling to the US and Canada makes for an unforgettable journey to see some iconic attractions like Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park and Niagara Falls, to name a few.
Canada is also a hotspot for the year ahead- ideal for those who enjoy anything from skiing to city hopping and nature.
