Bodyguard star Richard Madden is waiting to find out what happens next for his character David Budd, who ended the series a national hero driving into the sunset with his formerly-estranged family.
“I’m having a conversation with [creator Jed Mercurio] in about ten days or something,” Madden told the Daily Mail, “when I’m back in the country, and we are just going to chat through some ideas.”
Madden added this, revealing that he doesn’t yet know what Mercurio has up his sleeve:
“We never intended to make another one and I don’t know, I’m excited to see what he’s got, especially because David [Budd] had quite a busy couple of months. So what do we do with him next? Because he probably needs a break… but him, on the beach with a pina colada, I don’t think people are going to watch that as much. Less anxiety though, I would like less anxiety.”
The show was a huge hit for the BBC in the UK, and it also made a splash on Netflix in the USA when it arrived online. Plenty of people would love to see Madden back in action, of course.
Here’s our one question, though: Is it too late for Keeley Hawes’ Julia Montague to reveal that she’s not actually dead? We’ll just have to wait and watch to find out.
