Based on the classic 1970s series, the new series’ cast includes Annie Ilonzeh (Melrose Place) as Kate, Minka Kelly (The Roommate) as Eve and Rachael Taylor (Transformers) as Abby, while Ramon Rodriguez (The Wire) will play their handler, Bosley.

Working for the exclusive Townsend Detective Agency, the girls’ action-packed cases will take them “from the dangerous drug dens to the glamorous beachfront mansions of Miami”.

Gill Hay, Head of Acquisitions for Channel 4, comments: “Charlie’s Angels is a light-hearted, high-kicking romp with all the glitz, glamour and beautiful crimefighters you would expect from a US remake of the iconic original. E4 viewers can look forward to some hot Miami action as part of our brand new line up.”

Launching in the US on Thursday 22nd September, the show’s executive producers include Charlie’s Angels movie star Drew Barrymore and Smallville co-creators Al Gough and Miles Millar.
