Since Matt Murdock was buried under a building and presumed dead at the end of The Defenders, we’ve seen new series of Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist attempt to deal with the fallout. Now, we finally have a trailer for The Man Without Fear’s big return in Daredevil season 3.

The brief Daredevil season 3 teaser trailer, which pops up on Netflix at the end of Iron Fist season 2, has now found its way onto YouTube. You can watch it right here…

“I once believed that justice could be found in a court of law, and in the light of day,” says a bloodied and black-wearing Matt, who’s back in the confessional for his latest round of over-sharing.

“But I was fooling myself,” he adds, before summing up his new approach to crime-fighting: “Darkness only responds to darkness. And the truth is, I’d rather die as the devil than live as Matt Murdock.”

Rather than giving us a look at a new action scene or character, this trailer doubles down on the thematic plot strands of the season. Matt, in this teaser, basically sits down and explains what the themes of Daredevil season 3 will be. It’s atmospheric, dramatic and a great display of Charlie Cox’s dramatic chops.

Daredevil season 3 sounds like a dark ride, then, and we can’t wait to see how it plays out. We’re expecting the series to return to Netflix towards the end of this year, and we’ll be sure to let you know the exact Daredevil season 3 release date when we hear it.
