David Tennant and Catherine Tate reunite for Americons, a new TV comedy

Posted Filed under

David Tennant and Catherine Tate, who had such amazing comedic chemistry in their run together on Doctor Who, are reuniting for a new TV series entitled Americons.

The show is produced by Bad Wolf, a Cardiff-based production company that played a large role in bringing Doctor Who back to our screens in 2005. Other projects currently on the Bad Wolf slate include His Dark Materials and A Discovery Of Witches, both of which are TV adaptations of fantasy novels.

Tate is believed to be writing Americons as well as starring in it, and fans will no doubt be very excited to see Tate starring alongside Tennant on our tellies again. Little is known about the story, besides the fact that Tate and Tennant will play a couple that moves to America.

Americons is apparently in the “advanced stages” of development, with Sky One being its intended home channel. Rumblings online suggest that we should be able to watch Americons at some point next year.

We’ll keep you posted as we hear more. It’ll be interesting to find out who else is joining the cast, what the plot specifics will be, and when the first trailer will arrive on the web.

In the meantime, both Tennant and Tate can be heard in the new version of DuckTales, which airs on Disney XD.
