Light spoilers for Doctor Who series 11.
Last week came the news that Alan Cumming would be joining series 11 of Doctor Who. He broke the news to the Homo Sapiens podcast, and that he’d be playing King James I in an episode of the new series. As it turns out, he was filming over the weekend, and his role appears to be in the proverbial can/hard drive.
Cumming, though, has now admitted that he’d made an error, and that he wasn’t supposed to reveal his involvement in the show. He addressed this in a new post on his Twitter feed, here…
So that’s good!

“I’d told the Homo Sapiens podcast that I was doing it before Doctor Who told me it was supposed to be a big secret, so that’s good”, he says in the clip.
No further details of the episode he’s involved in have been released, and the likelihood is that they’ll stay under wraps until the BBC and the Doctor Who team are ready to say more.
