50th hurt in tardis

‘Doctor Who’ exec: ‘Not very much longer’ until 50th special trailer

Posted Filed under

A one-minute teaser celebrating the 50th anniversary aired on BBC One at the weekend and a full trailer was shown at Comic-Con in San Diego in July.

Moffat told Radio Times: “It’s too early to put it on.”

He joked: “If it were up to me, the BBC would only publicise Doctor Who and Sherlock. However, in their biased and wrong-headed view, they have a number of shows on before Sherlock and Doctor Who that they have to publicise now, so they’re waiting to publicise Doctor Who and Sherlock until later.”

The Sherlock writer added: “I agree it is a crime! Who cares about those other shows? I don’t! But I have to wait in line, so the reason you haven’t see the 50th trailer yet is it’s too early to put it on. But it’s not going to be very much longer…”

Moffat also recently revealed that the special “changes the way [the Doctor] thinks and the way he will adventure from now on”.

‘The Day of the Doctor’ will air on Saturday 23 November simultaneously across six continents and at least 75 countries at the same time as the UK broadcast on BBC One.
