Doctor Who filming at Capitol Shopping Center in Cardiff

A Doctor Who film crew built a campaign headquarters set at Capitol Shopping Plaza in Cardiff, Wales on 3 January.

The campaign headquarters setup included large posters and bills advertising an organization named Albion and a candidate named Roger ap Gwilliam. The slogans included “Bigger Better Bolder Britain” and “Vote for Gwilliam”.

Roger ap Gwilliam is apparently “The Space Saviour”.

The most interesting thing about Albion’s campaign advertising is that the images posted of Roger ap Gwilliam are of famous Welsh actor Aneurin Barnard.

They appeared to film a blonde actress and a man with an orange cap outside the campaign office.

Extras wearing business attire and clothing with the same campaign slogans lined up inside Capitol Shopping Center.

As evening fell, the crew filmed indoor scenes. The scene depicted a future UK General Election. Roger ap Gwilliam is apparently the leader of the Albion Party. The actors inside playing campaign supporters and workers were heard cheering “Roger! Roger! Roger!”

Companion Ruby Sunday actress Millie Gibson was spotted inside among the campaign supporters wearing glasses and Albion gear.

The filming moved outdoors again later in the evening.

The filming wrapped at approximately 7:30pm. Location filming is rumoured to resume somewhere in Swansea, Wales 4-7 January.

Doctor Who will return in November 2023 with three 60th anniversary specials starring David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor. In the following festive period, Ncuti Gatwa will star in his first full Doctor Who episode as the Fifteenth Doctor.
