Doctor Who films in Cardiff theatre

On 6, 7 and 8 June, 2023, a crew filmed scenes inside the Sherman Theatre in Cardiff for the finale block of the series of Doctor Who which will air in 2024.

On 6 June, here wasn’t much to see outside of the location but the Block Five director Jamie Donoughue was spotted. Block Five is believed to consist of Episodes Seven and Eight out out the eight-episode series.

The casting calls for 5 and 6 June requested musicians to play the saxophone, trombone and trumpet plus swing dancers so it should be an entertaining scene at the theatre location.

Bonnie Langford, who played Sixth Doctor companion Mel, was also spotted on location.

On 7 June at the same location, Ncuti Gatwa was posed for photos at the location with fans.

Several extras were spotted.

On 8 June, the day after she was announced as returning to Doctor Who, Bonnie Langford greeted fans on location.

And the crew brought an attractive and elaborate pink dress was out of the venue.

Doctor Who will return in November 2023 with three 60th anniversary specials starring David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor and Catherine Tate as companion Donna Noble. In the following festive period, Ncuti Gatwa will star in his first full Doctor Who episode as the Fifteenth Doctor. A new Doctor Who series starring Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson will debut in 2024.
