A crew filmed scenes with Ncuti Gatwa and Bonnie Langford for the 2024 series of Doctor Who at One Central Square in Cardiff on 9 June.

The filming is believed to be for the finale block (Block Five), consisting of Episodes 7 and 8 out of eight episodes of the next series.

The location was evidenced by the usual TB LOC signs indicating Doctor Who filming.

Reception in the building was set up with a graphic on a stand with the TRIAD TECHNOLOGY symbol seen on a prop bus at Doctor Who festive special filming in Bristol.

The filming took place in the reception area and first floor of the building.

Extras dressed in business attire were transported to the location.

Ncuti Gatwa (the Doctor) and Bonnie Langford (Mel) spent some time outside the building with fans. Gatwa was wearing a black leather jacket with a white T-shirt, blue jeans and western-style black boots. Langford’s costume consisted of a tangerine-coloured blazer and black trousers.

Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies had this to say about Langford’s involvement with the series:

“Such a delight and an honour and a hoot to work with [Bonnie Langford], and this isn’t just a cameo, it’s a great big starring role! With the stakes higher than they’ve ever been before 😳 Hop on cowboy, this is going to be nuts!”

Gatwa and Langford were filmed running through the reception area.

Doctor Who will return in November 2023 with three 60th anniversary specials starring David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor and Catherine Tate as companion Donna Noble. In the following festive period, Ncuti Gatwa will star in his first full Doctor Who episode as the Fifteenth Doctor. A new Doctor Who series starring Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson will debut in 2024.
