Filming, as you probably know, kicks off on Doctor Who series 11 before Christmas, with Jodie Whittaker taking over the TARDIS for ten episodes. Casting is well underway too on the new series, and the production team is falling into place too.
The brilliant Ruther2 on Twitter has been digging up a wealth of information too, and she’s discovered that block one of filming episodes for Doctor Who series 11 – that Jamie Childs is set to direct – will consist of episodes one and seven of the new series. Interestingly, episode one is now listed as 65 minutes long, as opposed to the 60 minutes special that the BBC originally announced. We wait and see if that proves to be the case come transmission time.
Furthermore, Asha Kingsley is set to guest star in the opening block of episodes too. According to her online resume, she’ll be playing the character of Sonia.
No further details or official confirmation of any of this yet. But you can find the relevant Tweets here and here.
Doctor Who series 11 starts in the autumn of 2018.
