A bit more casting news has landed for Doctor Who series 11, with the news that Lee Mack will be amongst the roster of guest stars for the new run of the show.
Showrunner Chris Chibnall has been keeping news of guest performers under wraps, but early this month, Alan Cumming let slip that he was joining the show for at least an episode. And now Lee Mack has done the same, chatting to Sharon D Clarke on Radio 4’s Loose Ends over the weekend.
“Not only am I excited about the idea of someone being in Doctor Who, I am also possibly going to be in it as well”, he said. “I wasn’t supposed to say anything, but because [Sharon] said that, I thought, ‘well I’m going to say it then!’ Neither of us should have said it”.
Mack admitted that his inclusion is “blink and you’ll miss it”, but also revealed “I’ve just been a fan all my life, so I just harassed them until they gave me a little part in it”. He also revealed that he owns a TARDIS at home, and a Dalek! We presume he means a full size one!
Doctor Who series 11 filming continues, with Jodie Whittaker in the lead role, of course.
The episode of Loose Ends is available on BBC iPlayer Radio, here.
