Another actor from Game of Thrones has joined the cast of Spooks: The Greater Good.
Elyes Gabel (World War Z, Casualty), who played Rakharo in Game of Thrones, will appear alongside former co-star Kit Harington in the new movie, which is currently filming.
The cast also includes Jennifer Ehle (Pride and Prejudice), Tuppence Middleton (Trance), Eleanor Matsuura (The Fades) and Tim McInnerny (Blackadder), with Peter Firth returning as MI5 chief Harry Pearce.
Firth has revealed recently that the movie has “a bigger budget” than the TV series: “There will be more helicopters!”
Due in cinemas next year, Spooks: The Greater Good is written by Jonathan Brackley and Sam Vincent, who were showrunners for Series 9 and Series 10.
The official synopsis reads: “When charismatic terrorist Adam Qasim escapes from MI5 custody during a routine handover, the Head of Counter Terrorism, Sir Harry Pearce (Peter Firth) – is blamed. Disgraced and forced to resign, no-one’s surprised when Harry disappears one night off a bridge into the Thames…
“With MI5 on its knees in the wake of the Qasim debacle and facing controversial reform, former officer Will Crombie (Kit Harington) is brought back to uncover the truth they feared – Harry’s still alive. He’s gone rogue, and needs Will’s help.
“As Qasim prepares his devastating attack on the heart of London, Will must decide whether to turn Harry in – or risk everything by trusting the damaged, dangerous master spy who has already betrayed him once before…”
The final episode of Spooks aired on BBC One in October 2011.
