NBC is looking to return to the world of Grimm, with a female-fronted spinoff in development at the network. Grimm, a fantasy drama starring David Giuntoli, ran for six seasons on NBC before wrapping up its run last year.
Variety reports that the spinoff, which doesn’t have a title yet, is being headed up by writer/exec producer Melissa Glenn, who recently worked on Iron Fist season 2 for Netflix. Her other credits include the 2012 Beauty And The Beast TV show and the sci-fi show Zoo.
Variety also shared a plot description for Glenn’s Grimm spinoff, citing an official piece of info from the network as its source:
“According to the official description, the new show builds off the mythology of the original series and will feature returning fan favorites while also introducing new characters, new dangers and new mysteries.”
There’s no word yet on which characters from Grimm will return, or who will lead the show. Will it be a woman, or multiple women, that we met in the original Grimm? Or will there be a brand new character at the show’s heart?
It’s impossible to guess any of the answers as of yet, but we’ll be sure to let you know as more news comes to light.
