Hannibal was cancelled back in 2015, but the show’s legions of fans are surely still hoping to see it come back some day. And now, the star Mads Mikkelsen has confirmed that he and creator Bryan Fuller haven’t given up hope of finding the show a new home.
Speaking exclusively to Bloody Disgusting, Mikkelsen offered this update for fans of his iconic turn as Hannibal Lecter in Hannibal:
“I think there’s always new hope. I haven’t heard anything specific. I know [show creator] Bryan [Fuller] is still working on some ideas where we can find a new home for this. I also have a strong feeling that everybody who was involved in it would gladly pick up the glove again if that happens”.
Mikkelsen also added this, hinting at where things could go if the show was brought back:
“I know that [Fuller] was working to get the rights to Silence of the Lambs so he could get in there and use some of those characters for his own universe. I have a hunch that might be where we’re going.”
Could the opportunity to move past the events of the Red Dragon storyline and delve in Silence Of The Lambs tempt a new network to pick up the show. We’ll just have to wait and see…
