Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald may not have made it into cinemas yet, but J.K. Rowling has started work on the script to its sequel, Fantastic Beasts 3. This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, since we already knew that Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them was planned since the start as a five-part cinematic saga.
But still, it’s nice to know where Rowling is at. In an update on her website, Rowling released this little paragraph about what she is writing the moment:
“I’ve just finished the fourth Galbraith novel, Lethal White, and I’m now writing the screenplay for Fantastic Beasts 3. After that I’ll be writing another book for children. I’ve been playing with the (non-Harry Potter/wizarding world) story for about six years, so it’s about time I get it down on paper.”
These are exciting times for Rowling and her fans, then, with three new projects happening in quick succession for the author. It’ll be interesting to find out, whenever the announcement comes, what that non-Potter children’s book is about.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald has a UK release date of November 16th, 2018. We wouldn’t be surprised if it left some big plot threads dangling for the sequel that Rowling is working on.
We’ll bring you more Fantastic Beasts news as it happens.
