Preparations have begun on a Broadway musical based on Ian Fleming’s James Bond.
James Bond: The Musical is masterminded by executive producer Merry Saltzman, the daughter of original 007 film producer Harry Saltzman.
The show will have its own original storyline, the makers told Playbill.com, and will feature “several Bond villains, plus some new ones” as well as introducing “our own Bond girl.”
The story will be written by novelist Dave Clarke (Keeping Hannah Waiting), with country composer Jay Henry Weisz providing the music and lyrics.
Saltzman commented: “Production schedules and trial runs are still being worked out in anticipation of a late 2017-early 2018 opening.”
James Bond: The Musical is expected to open in Broadway or in Las Vegas.
