Gillan will star alongside Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker, Lee Pace, Ophelia Lovibond and Glenn Close in the space adventure movie, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Guardians of the Galaxy is the tenth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will be followed by 2015’s The Avengers 2.

The movie will be released in cinemas in August 2014 and filming is set to begin next month in the UK.
