Our Girl star Michelle Keegan has revealed that the show’s next season will be longer than usual.

Following Season 2’s dramatic finale last month, the BBC announced the commission of a third season of the army drama.

Keegan, who will be returning as Georgie Lane, has now revealed that Season 3 will feature 10 episodes.

The former Coronation Street actress told Glamour UK during a Facebook LIVE chat: “It’s going to be ten episodes, last series was only five, it’s going to double.”

She added: “It will be set abroad.”

Our Girl writer Tony Grounds recently confirmed that the third season will arrive “sooner than last time.”

The feature-length Our Girl pilot aired in March 2013, with an 18 month gap before the full five-part first season began in September 2014. The gap between the first and second seasons was almost two years.
