The third season of Black Mirror has started filming.
Netflix announced the commission of 12 brand new episodes of Charlie Brooker’s anthology series last September.
Brooker is conceiving the new stories from the show’s UK production base.
British star Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Doctor Who) and Canada’s Mackenzie Davis (The Martian) will lead the cast of the first episode, directed by Owen Harris, who previously worked on 2013’s ‘Be Right Back’ episode.
The new season of Black Mirror will premiere internationally on Netflix in all territories outside the UK and Ireland, where plans are apparently still being determined.
Brooker commented last year: “It’s all very exciting — a whole new bunch of Black Mirror episodes on the most fitting platform imaginable. Netflix connects us with a global audience so that we can create bigger, stranger, more international and diverse stories than before, whilst maintaining that Black Mirror feel.”
Black Mirror first aired on Channel 4 in December 2011 and a Christmas special aired in 2014.
