This past week, it looks as if Peter Capaldi has filmed his final scenes for Doctor Who, leaving Roath Lock Studios in Cardiff and warmly chatting to fans having wrapped up filming.
Fan interaction, and spending time with the show’s followers, has been a big thing for Capaldi. But as he revealed to The Big Issue back in 2015, once he landed the role of the Doctor in Doctor Who, there was an unexpected consequence at his local bank.
Due to the number of autographs he found himself signing, he didn’t realise that his signature was gradually changing. Quite a lot, as it happened. As Capaldi revealed, “my bank actually refused a cheque of mine the other day because my signature has changed so much this year”.
It’s changed due to speed. “I do a faster one now. The bank sent me a cheque back: ‘that is not you’!”
The financial matter was resolved, of course. But given that the role of the Doctor guarantees a lifelong place on the convention circuit, Capaldi’s signature may yet evolve still further…!
