Roisin Conaty’s GameFace is getting a second series, and the comedy show’s return date will be upon us quite soon…
The first series aired on E4 and proved to be a huge success, so GameFace series 2 will air on Channel 4 instead.
As for the exact date, Channel 4 has confirmed with a video that the GameFace series 2 premiere will air on Wednesday 17th July at 10pm. Here’s the vid…
Roisin Conaty will, of course, return to the central role of struggling actress Marcella. Production started on six new episodes in February 2019, and now their broadcast is pretty close.
Conaty said this in a statement about the GameFace renewal:
“GameFace is a show very close to my heart so I am bloody over the Moon we are getting to make another series and very grateful to Channel 4. I can’t wait to get back to whispering to myself as I type in coffee shops and the relentless dry heaving as deadlines approach.”
And Channel 4’s Fiona McDermott said this:
“Roisin goes from strength to strength and with Marcella she’s created a fantastically funny, flawed and recognisable character, one we think more viewers should have the chance to meet. We can’t wait to welcome the show back, and are thrilled that this second series will be airing on Channel 4.”
Hulu will continue to stream GameFace for American audiences. And as we hear more about GameFace series 2, we’ll be sure to let you know.
