Another TV series inspired by DC Comics is in the works, with the producers of Suits and Scrubs working on a new show entitled Secret Six. Maybe they just love TV series that begin with the letter ‘S’?
The Secret Six comic book team was first introduced to readers in May 1968, and like most comic book teams it has had numerous reboots and rejigs over the years. Although the Secret Six was originally a heroic team, a recent revamp made it a villainous ensemble that included Harley Quinn and Bane.
Now, CBS is developing a Secret Six TV series and has committed to making a pilot episode. Rick Muirragui (Suits) will write and executive produce, with Bill Lawrence (Scrubs) and Jeff Ingold (Rush Hour) also serving as executive producers.
There’s no word yet on which exact version of the Secret Six that the series will focus on. Thanks to a report from Variety, though, we do have this teasing plot summary:
“[Secret Six] follows six morally ambiguous strangers, each with their own unique specialties and secret pasts. They are brought together by an enigmatic figure who blackmails them into working as a team to expose the corruption of the corporate and political elite.”
This is an interesting project for CBS to pick up, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated as we hear more about it.
