Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are returning to the world of horror comedy, with the Shaun Of The Dead duo set to bring a series called Truth Seekers to Amazon Prime Video. Here’s everything we know…
Truth Seekers follows a pair of part-time paranormal investigators – played, of course, by Pegg and Frost – who share their experiences on an online channel. However, over the course of the eight-episode Amazon series, we’ll see that the horrors they are following are becoming a lot more serious and a lot more deadly.
Pegg and Frost will also produce the show through their Stolen Picture company, and they will write it alongside Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz. Jim Field Smith, who directed numerous episodes of Episodes and The Wrong Mans, has signed up to direct.
Pegg said this about the news: “Nick and I are delighted that Truth Seekers has found a home with Amazon Prime Video. We’re looking forward to working closely with them and creating something very special. These are truly exciting times for television and I can’t think of a better partner than Amazon to accompany us on a return to the smaller screen.”
And Frost said this: “Simon, Miles and I, and everyone at Stolen Picture, are incredibly happy to be making Truth Seekers with our new partners, Amazon Prime Video. It’s been nothing but a joyride in seeing this mad tale of paranormal conspiracy unfold in all its understated brilliance. Amazon’s commitment and support of the show and of original programming generally, showed us that we couldn’t be collaborating with a bigger or better team.”
We’ll bring you more news as we hear it.
