The brand new BBC adaptation of War Of The Worlds has started filming in the UK this week. The new three-part adaptation has been penned by Peter Harness, known for his work on Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell and Doctor Who. He’s written all three scripts this time around with Craig Viveiros directing. This take on the story is set in the Victorian era.
Production is set to be primarily based in the north west of England, with shooting set for Liverpool and Cheshire. It’s feasible that the BBC will be looking to schedule this one in and around the Christmas period at the end of this year.
Mammoth Studios is overseeing the production. We don’t have firm casting news yet, but we’ll get it your way when we do.
