The Mandalorian: Star Wars TV show casts Werner Herzog and Carl Weathers

The cast for The Mandalorian has just grown a fair bit: the Star Wars TV show, destined for the upcoming Disney Plus streaming service, has added Werner Herzog, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito to its cast.

Herzog, of course, is best known for his work as a filmmaker: behind the camera, he has called the shots on such films as Fitzcaraldo, Grizzly Man and Aguirre, Wrath Of God. He does do a fair bit of acting, though, witch recent roles in Jack Reacher, Salt And Fire and Parks And Recreation.

Carl Weathers, on the other hand, is known for his work in the Rocky and Predator film franchises, and has more recently been seen in Chicago Justice and Magnum P.I. on TV.

Giancarlo Esposito is beloved for his work as Gus Fring in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. He’s also appeared in The Usual Suspects, The Jungle Book and Do The Right Thing.

Because The Mandalorian is a top secret Disney project, no details have been shared about the characters these talented chaps are playing.

The show already has Pedro Pascal in its lead role, which is a lone gunslinger character making his was in the Star Wars galaxy between the events of Return Of The Jedi and The Force Awakens. Nick Nolte and Gina Carano are also in the cast.

As we hear more about the show, we’ll be sure to let you know.
