Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman, who debuted on Supergirl, will return to The CW for the three-part crossover event between Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl later this year. And now, on social media, another actor has unveiled Supes’ new threads.
Arrow star Stephen Amell took to Twitter to share a picture of himself, Grant Gustin and Tyler Hoechlin. Gustin and Amell are in their civvies, but Hoechlin is wearing an all-black Superman suit. Check it out…

Head exploding emoji, indeed. Exactly how this natty new outfit will factor into the plot remains to be seen, although the crossover’s title could hold a clue: the three-part event has been dubbed Elseworlds, an umbrella term that is used in the comics to label stories that take place in alternate realities.
Could this be an alt version of Supes from a parallel world, then? A darker Man Of Steel from a universe where things went really bad? We’ll just have to wait and watch to find out, of course.
Making her big Arrowverse debut in the event is Ruby Rose, who’ll step into the role of Batwoman and help introduce Gotham City to this sprawling superhero shared universe.
The Elseworlds crossover is expected to air before the end of the year, and we’ll be sure to bring you all the news as we hear it.
