Disney XD has given more information on when we will see the fourth and final season of the Star Wars Rebels animated series.
April’s Star Wars Celebration Orlando bought Star Wars fans the sad news that the fourth season of Star Wars Rebels would be its last. Now, thanks to an update from Disney XD in the UK, we know that British fans of the show will be able to see the final run of episodes from October.
Rebels sits in the Star Wars timeline prior to Episode IV: A New Hope. Indeed, it has long been rumoured that the events of season 4 may culminate in a dovetail with Gareth Edwards’ spin-off movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Indeed, a couple of Rebels‘ central protagonists – the crew of a ship called Ghost, part of the nascent rebellion against the empire – turn up as easter eggs in the film, as preparations are under way for the battle on and above Scarif, during which the Death Star plans were stolen.
Season 4 will continue to track the story of Cpt. Hera Syndulla (who will eventually become a General, according to Rogue One), blind former-Jedi Kanaan Jarrus, Padawan Ezra Bridger and their cohorts as the Rebellion continues to coalesce, presumably with the events of the first Star Wars even closer on the horizon.
We can’t wait.
